William Logan Selkirk was born in the West Midlands on 5th September 1904.
His parents, Joseph and Isabel Mary nee Calderwood were married in 1900 and had 4 children: MarjorieRuth Isabel was born in 1903 and died all too young in February 2009. She was buried in Beckermet, close to where her father was born. Irene Josephine was the third born in 1908. She married John O’Shea and moved to New Zealand. A fourth child died at birth.
Betty Kate Selkirk (née Broomhall) was also born in the West Midlands on 12th August 1908(?).
They were married on 3rd September 1934, having 3 sons. They eventually became farmers in 1953 and retired to Jersey in 1962.
Because of Logan’s Motor Neurone disease they returned to England in 1966.
They both died in May 1984 in Shropshire and their ashes were also buried in Marjorie’s plot in Beckermet
